-The Many Wonderful Adventures Of Jodi Ann!

A few months ago my blog obsession landed me right to the doorstep of Bakerella's page.  I was perusing posts linking from one page to the next when I saw over and over again the cutest little treat.  Cupcake pops! Ok, truly, how adorable?  It seems like everyone who is anyone had tried these little babies out.  So I decided to give it a try.
I don't have photos of the whole process, but, I did manage to get some shots of the finished product before they were eaten all up!
Here is Bakerella's Recipe
And here are photos of my adventure:

mmm.. aren't they beautiful.  Now I must admit, these were just a bit too sweet for my taste.  Don't get me wrong everyone else loved them!  I'm just weird I suppose.  So when my sister and I were discussing her baby shower I knew these would be the perfect favors.  However,  we had just one day to make them, as we were both driving in from different states. We needed 160 or so and we were also making and decorating 96 cupcakes!  So I thought long and hard and decided that forming them into a cupcake shape would be impossible.  Plus my sister doesn't like things too sweet either.  So brownie balls seemed like the only alternative.  I'm sure this isn't an original idea, but we kinda just winged it.  We baked regular ol' brownie from a box mix, and took it out just a few minutes early so they would be soft.   They rolled beautifully without the addition of frosting (which cut down on the sweet).  We dipped them in milk chocolate and drizzled them with white chocolate dyed to match her color theme.  We put them in little cellophane baggies, my mom had bought these adorable little charms to attach to the ribbon.  They were DELICIOUS!! The guests loved them. And as for the cupcakes, my sister decided to sit little cupcake boxes at each table so the guests could take them home as well!
Here are the pics:
Well, I am off.  It is time to decide whether or not a huge project should be started just 3 days before spring break is over.  Hmm.. we shall see :-)
Until next time,
Jodi Ann!
